Emerging Color Medallion

I think the Medallion stamp is one of my all time favorite SU stamps.  I haven't played with it in awhile so I decided to get it out and ink it up this weekend.  For this card I did the Emerging Color technique.  I stamped several flowers from the Vintage Vogue set in Bashful Blue.  I also rocked the edges in Chocolate Chip.  Then I stamped the Medallion in Versamark right over the top.  I heat embossed the Medallion in clear embossing powder.  The final step is to brayer the whole thing with Chocolate Chip ink.  Now the blue flowers are visible through the Medallion stamp.  I added a little ribbon, a corduroy button and a pearl to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Fast & Fabulous

Here's a card I made using the Hostess set Fast & Fabulous.  This set is so versatile.  It looks great either stamped or watercolored.  For this project I did a little of both.  I stamped the under layer in Pretty in Pink and then the over layer in Early Espresso.  Then I went back with my blender pen and a little Mambo Melon ink to highlight the flowers.  I spritzed and sponged my focal image for a little extra dimension.  The DSP is from the Pawsitively Prints pack.  The sentiment is from the set Just Believe.  I repurposed the little button brads from a card my Mom sent me.  Thanks Mom!  For punches I used the Scallop Border and Corner Rounder.  Thanks for stopping by!

Embossed Baby Blossoms

Here's another quick card I put together using the Baby Blossoms stamp set.  I stamped the flowers in a border pattern behind my sentiment.  The greeting is from the set A Word for You.  I punched this with my oval punch and layered it on a scallop oval.  The background is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.  I added a scalloped border die cut to finish it off.  The color combo is Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz and Very Vanilla.  Thanks for stopping by!

My Second MDS Contest Entry

Here's my second entry for the My Digital Studio contest.  I used pictures from our vacation to Jamaica.  I was sad I didn't win the contest but I love this layout.  The pictures of the flowers and gardens at the Couples Resort are some of my favorites.  I'm really glad I made this page.  Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Camp Projects

Here are the projects for my upcoming Stamp Camp this weekend.  I used lots of new goodies from the Occasions Mini.  Hope to see you there!
For this card I used the stamp set Just Believe.  I colored directly on the stamp with my markers in Pear Pizzazz, Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze.  The DSP is Springtime Vintage from the Occasions mini.  I used my color spritzer to add some dimension to the focal image.  I finished with some Pearls and a strip punched with the Scallop Ribbon punch.
This card uses the new set Baby Blossoms.  I circle punched the image and layered it on a scallop circle punch.  The DSP is Springtime Vintage again.  The color combo is Rose Red and Pear Pizzazz.  I embellished with some Very Vanilla ribbon and a Hodge Podge hardware ribbon slide.
I kept this card pretty simple.  We always need an easy one, right?  The card base is embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder from the Occasions mini.  I stamped the Medallion in Marina Mist and sponged the edges.  Finally I added a flower from the Pretties kit.  I sprayed the flower with some Log Cabin Smooch spritz and used a corduroy brad for the center.
Here's the final project.  I think this is my favorite.  The flower was stamped with the new set Build a Blossom and punched with the coordinating Blossom Petals punch.  The color combo is Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and Perfect Plum.  The DSP is from the Pawsitively Prints pack.  The sentiment is from the set Short & Sweet.  I hope everyone likes the cards!  Thanks for stopping by.

My Non Winning MDS Contest Entry

Well, I didn't win the Stampin Up My Digital Studio contest but I thought I would post one of my entries anyhow.  I just love this picture of my baby Oliver.  All of the elements on this page are from Stampin Up.  I used My Digital Studio to create the page.  My favorite part of this page is the background.  I layered a Vintage Overlay along with one of the designs from the Presto Patterns download.  I love how it creates a nice subtle frame and adds dimension to the page.  Thanks for stopping by!

Build a Blossom in Rich Razzleberry

I'm really loving this Build a Blossom set and coordinating Blossom Petals punch!  For this card I went with some brighter colors - Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz.  For the flower, I inked the full petal stamp and then stamped off once to get a lighter shade.  For the detail petal stamp I just stamped like I normally would.  That way I got two shades of Rich Razzleberry with just enough contrast to show the details in the stamp.  I did the same thing with the leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink.  The sentiment is from the set Fabulous Phrases.  Another one of my favorite sets!  I used the Scallop Ribbon punch to add a little Tempting Turquoise to the background.  I finished with a button for the center of my flower.  Thanks for stopping by!

Another Baby Blossoms Card

I've been getting a lot of use out of my Baby Blossoms set.  For this card I stamped a bunch of leaves and blossoms in Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist and Perfect Plum on the background panel.  I stamped the focal image and punched this out with a circle punch.  To make it stand out from the background I popped this up on some dimensionals.  I used the embossing folder Vintage Wallpaper on the bottom panel.  The Marina Mist strip is punched with the Scallop Ribbon punch.  The sentiment is from the set Tiny Tags.  I punched a bunch of little tags with the Jewelry Tag punch for an easy embellishment.  Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Blossoms and Build a Blossom

Here's a card I made that uses both the new sets I got - Baby Blossoms and Build a Blossom.  I stamped the back panel with a border using the Baby Blossoms set and then I stamped the focal image with Build a Blossom.  I used the coordinating Blossom Petals punch to make the flower.  My color combo is Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Pink Pirouette.  I mounted the flower on a large circle punched with the XL Circle punch.  I added a strip of Pink Pirouette punched with the Ribbon punch.  The center of my flower is embellished with a Build a Brad.  The sentiment is from the set Tiny Tags.  Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Card with Inlaid Embossing

I made this Valentine's card for a couple challenges on Splitcoast.  The challenges were to use hearts with the color combo Basic Black, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla.  I used the Heart to Heart punch.  I layered these on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then ran the whole thing through the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I've seen this technique on Splitcoast and thought I'd give it a try.  The embossing folder has a very fine detailed pattern so the hearts become almost embedded in the cardstock.  It's a neat effect.  The background of my embossed panel was stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds.  The sentiment is from the set Well Scripted.  The small heart embellishment is from the set Tiny Tags.  I used a couple circle punches and the scallop border.  Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Blossoms

Here's another card I made with the set Baby Blossoms.  I'm having a lot of fun with this set.  I'm planning a stamp camp for January and I'm definitely going to use this set.  I also used the leaf stitch stamp from the wheel In Stitches.  I unmounted this wheel and cut the images apart.  I think I will get a lot more use out of the stitches individually.  My color combo is Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi.  I used another new punch on this card.  I got the scallop circle punch with some Christmas money.  I think I'm going to use it more for scrapbooking but I wanted to try it out.  I layered my punched border and stamped image on the Top Note die.  I finished with a little sponging and spritzer on the backgound.  Thanks for stopping by!
