Patterned Pines Christmas Card

I really need to get going on my Christmas cards!  I didn't buy very many new Christmas sets so I haven't been making a whole lot of cards.  For this one I pulled out an old favorite called Patterned Pines.  I embossed the card base with the Snow Burst folder.  My DSP is called Frostwood Lodge from the Holiday mini.  The sentiment is from the set Petite Pairs.  I layered that on a couple circle punches and the scallop circle punch.  My color combo is Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  I added a strip punched with the scallop ribbon punch.  Thanks for stopping by!

Gently Falling CAS

Here's a quick one layer card I made with the set Gently Falling.  My card base is Confetti Cream.  I used the rock and roll technique on the leaves.  For the maple leaf I used Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler.  For the smaller leaves I used More Mustard and Pear Pizzazz.  The detail stamp is done with Early Espresso.  My sentiment is from the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes.  I rounded the bottom corners of the card base for a little interest.  That's it!  Quick and easy.  Thanks for stopping by!

MDS Catamaran Cruise

I've been working on some vacation layouts.  Here's one of my favorites of my husband.  We went on a Catamaran cruise while in Jamaica last winter.  I got some good shots of him using the slide.  For this page I used My Digital Studio.  The kit I used is from The Sweet Shoppe and it's called Love of Family.  This kit was primarily designed for fall layouts but I like the colors with these pictures.  My journaling font is from Darcy Baldwin.  It's called Another Mandy.  Thanks for stopping by.

Leaves of aTree Rosette

I've made quite a few cards lately with this particular sketch.  It's very versatile.  For this card I used the single stamp Leaves of a Tree for my focal image.  I used my Circle Scissors Plus to cut it out.  The background panel is made with the Fancy Fan letterpress.  My color combo is Pool Party, More Mustard and Soft Suede.  I made the flower rosette from three scallop circle punches.  I punched these from First Edition DSP and then inked the edges a little.  I added an antique brad to the center of my flower.  My sentiment is from the set You're a Gem. I finished it off with a little Pear Pizzazz ribbon.  Thanks for stopping by!

Button Buddies Cherries

I've been so busy stamping with my new things from the Holiday mini that I'd forgotten how much fun the Button Buddies set can be.  I really love this set!  For this card I used the cherries for my focal point.  I don't have any Cherry Cobbler buttons so I made a couple of my own.  I punched several circles and stacked them together.  For the top layer I stamped a button from the set Button, Button and covered it with Crystal Effects.  I added a little Baker's Twine to make it look even more like a real button.  My color combo is Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.  My sentiment is from the set Petite Pairs.  I layered that on a couple circle punches.  For the bottom panel I used the Fancy Fan letterpress and topped it with a scallop edge border.  I finished it off with a couple Itty Bitty punched flowers and pearls.  Thanks for stopping by!

Karen's Workshop Projects

I have a workshop planned for next weekend.  These are the projects we are making.
The first is a fall card made with the new set Gently Falling.  The DSP is also new from the Holiday mini.  It's called Spice Cake.  My color combo is Soft Suede, Pool Party and More Mustard.  The background panel is embossed with the Square Lattice folder.  My sentiment is from the set Fabulous Phrases and it's stamped on a strip punched with the scallop edge punch.  I made the flower rosette with some designer fabric and a rhinestone brad.  My focal image is punched with a large circle punch.
The second project is a Christmas card.  This card is also embellished with a flower rosette.  For this one I punched three scallop circles from First Edition DSP.  I scrunched them up a little and inked the edges.  I added a designer button to the center.  The stamped image is from the set Pines & Poinsettias.  I used my markers to get the multiple colors.  It's layered on a circle punch and two fancy flower punches.  The DSP is called Holly Berry Bouquet from the Holiday mini.  The card base is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  My color combo is Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Very Vanilla.  I hope everyone likes the projects!  Thanks for stopping by.

Gently Falling Thank You

Here's another project I made with the set Gently Falling.  I just love these leaves.  They are so pretty.  For this card I also used Spice Cake DSP.  My color combo is More Mustard, Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz.  I used a large circle punch for my focal image.  The sentiment is from the set Petite Pairs.  I added a strip punched with the scallop edge punch.  Finally I added a large designer button for embellishment.  I'm not sure about these buttons.  They are huge!  It's going to take some tricky designing to incorporate them in cards.  I'm trying to think of some other uses for them too.  Thanks for stopping by!

Keith's Birthday Card

My husband had a birthday last week.  This is the card I made for him.  I started with some retired Presto Patterns DSP for my card base.  I used my brayer along the bottom edge to add some color.  My focal image is the On the Green stamp for the background and then I overlaid my sentiment on top.  The greeting is from the set Sincere Salutations.  My color combo is Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.  I added a strip embossed with the Square Lattice folder.  I kept my embellishments pretty simple, just a few Itty Bitty buttons.  I think he liked it!  Thanks for stopping by.

MDS Snug as a Pug

Stampin Up is holding another My Digital Studio contest.  I decided it give it another try this year.  Even if I don't win, at least I get some scrapping done!  This layout didn't make the cut but I still love it so I thought I'd share it.  My husband took this shot of our pug Oliver.  He's such a cutie!  I used MDS to make this page with the Noteworthy hostess kit from the catalog.  For embellishments I used paper buttons, pearls, ribbon and some stitching.  My color combo is Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and So Saffron.  I think my favorite part of this layout is the daisy chain border.  That came out really well!  Thanks for stopping by!

First Edition Love & Sympathy

I made another card with the beautiful flower from the set Love & Sympathy.  I stamped the flower on First Edition DSP.  I spritzed it a little and inked the edges.  My color combo is Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla.  The background is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.  My sentiment is from the set Watercolor Trio.  I thought this elegant script would be nice with the pretty flower.  My sentiment is a die cut label from the Matchbox die.  I added a strip punched with the scallop ribbon punch and embellished it with a string of pearls.  I rounded all the bottom corners of my layers.  Thanks for stopping by!

Gently Falling with Fabric Rosette

I'm having a lot of fun with the new set Gently Falling.  I'm really glad I decided to get it!  For this card I also made a little flower rosette with some Spice Cake Designer Fabric.  I've never ordered the SU fabric before.  I don't really sew so I just never thought to get it.  With this preorder, I qualified for a discounted bundle that included some fabric.  I decided to try my hand at a rosette this morning.  I think it turned out well.  I added an Antique Brad to the center.  My color combo for this card is Soft Suede, Pool Party and Very Vanilla.  My sentiment is from the set Petite Pairs.  I used my circle punch and a die cut label from the Matchbox die.  I also added a strip punched with the scallop border punch.  The DSP in the background is called Spice Cake as well.  Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Card for Stacey & Matt

I have a cousin getting married next weekend.  Here's the card I made for them.  I rarely do any "punch art" but I thought a pretty white cake would be appropriate for this occasion.  My colors are very simple - lots of Whisper White with a little Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade.  I embossed my cake layers with the Elegant Lines folder.  I added a strip punched with the scallop ribbon punch to the bottom of each layer.  The flowers are punched with the Itty Bitty flower punch.  I added a few die cut "vines".  I added pearls to the centers of all the flowers.  My sentiment is from a retired set called Well Scripted.  Thanks for stopping by!

Frostwood Lodge Stockings

I made another card with the new set Stitched Stockings.  This set has a coordinating builder punch.  Its super easy to make a cute card!  I also used some new DSP called Frostwood Lodge.  I love this paper.  I'm a big fan of plaids and this paper has great patterns and colors.  For this card my combo is Early Espresso, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler.  I embossed the background panel with the Snow Burst folder.  My greeting is from the set Short & Sweet.  I punched that with the Decorative Label punch.  I added a button and a little ribbon for embellishment.  Thanks for stopping by!
