Morning Cup

I was in the mood to do a little water coloring so I reached for my Morning Cup set.  I realized I don't have a lot of current sets that are good for coloring.  I'm going to have to fix that when the Summer mini comes out!  I got my preview copy in the mail a week or so ago and there are some really cute sets coming out soon.  I can't wait!  I colored the image with my aqua painter and reinkers.  My color combo includes a couple retired colors - Kiwi Kiss, Taken with Teal, Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo.  I also used some retired DSP.  I think the Kiwi Kiss pattern is called Raspberry Tart.  I really have no idea about the Tangerine Tango pattern...sorry!  I die cut my focal image with an oval nestie.  I used my corner rounder on all the bottom corners to add a little interest.  I stamped my sentiment and then punched it with the jewelry tag punch.  I attached it to a corduroy button with some linen thread.  Thanks for stopping by!

Blossoms Abound in Daffodil Delight

While making this card I realized that I rarely use yellow.  It's one of those colors that I just never reach for.  I'm not sure why but I like how this card turned out.  I guess I should use yellow more often!  I pulled out an old retired set that I haven't used in quite some time - Blossoms Abound.  It's one of my all time favorites.  I stamped over my focal image with the Linen and Script background stamps to give it a vintage feel.  The sentiment is from the set A Word for You.  I punched this out with the Decorative Label punch.  My color combo is Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.  I used some linen thread and an antique brad to embellish my stamped image.  Thanks for stopping by!

Just Believe in Spingtime Colors

Here's a nice springy card I made using the Just Believe set.  I don't know about you but I'm ready for spring!  So, I decided to pull out some bright cheerful colors.  For this card I used Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Peach Parfait and Mambo Melon.  The sentiment is from the wheel Delight in Gladness.  I cut this wheel apart so I could use all the words separately.  This one was a little tricky to cut apart!  All the words are really close together.  Be careful if you're thinking about doing this.  I punched it out with my Word Window punch.  I added a strip punched with the scallop ribbon punch.  I added a couple pearls and some spritzing to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Another Notecard Tin

I made another set of notecards for my mini tins I got from the Stampin Up clearance rack.  I cased this layout from a card I saw on Stampin Connection.  The polka dot DSP is from the SAB kit Ice Cream Parlor.  The color combo comes from the kit - Peach Parfait, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Mambo Melon and Pacific Point.  I stamped the Decorative Label shape from the Tags til Christmas set and then punched it out.  The sentiment is from the Create a Cupcake set.  I punched a butterfly and then embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  I used some linen thread to make the body and antennae.  I added a strip punched with the scallop ribbon punch.  I finished it off with a little button.  I made four different versions and they fit perfectly in the tins.  It's going to make a great little gift!  Thanks for stopping by.

Elegant Blossom

Here's my second card made with the Elegant Lines embossing folder.  I think I'm getting a little better with this folder...lol!  My color combo is Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, and Baja Breeze.  The DSP I used is Springtime Vintage from the Occasions mini.  I stamped the flower with the Build a Blossoms set and punched it with the coordinating Blossom Petals punch.  I added a strip of Not Quite Navy punched with the scallop border punch.  The sentiment is from the Tiny Tags set.  I punched several small tags with the Jewelry tag punch and hung them from some crochet trim.  I added a little spritzing to the background and the flower.  Thanks for stopping by!

Tangerine and Melon Cupcakes

Here's a bright and cheery card I made this week.  I really like the color combo - Tangerine Tango, Mambo Melon and Chocolate Chip.  It's so much fun!  It makes a great birthday card.  I used my Create a Cupcake set and Build a Cupcake punch.  The sentiment is from the set Fabulous Phrases.  I punched this with the Word Window punch.  I made the card base from Presto Patterns DSP.  I brayered the bottom edge with Mambo Melon ink and added some ribbon.  I added a few Itty Bitty buttons for embellishments.  Thanks for stopping by!

Slice of Life

I got this Level 1 hostess set with my last order.  It's called Slice of Life.  I haven't done a whole lot of coloring lately so I decided to get it out and ink it up!  I've never tried to watercolor with Concord Crush before.  I found it a little difficult because as soon as I added water the ink separated a little into a bluish color.  I kept adding ink and eventually I ended up with this.  I think I like it....lol.  I die cut the focal image with an oval Nestie.  The color combo is Concord Crush, Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz.  I stamped the background piece with Itty Bitty Backgrounds to give it a little dimension.  The scallop strips were die cut with the Tasteful Trim die.  The sentiment is from the Level 2 hostess set Something to Celebrate.   I finished with a button.  Thanks for stopping by!

Elegant Cupcake

So I got the Elegant Lines embossing folder with my last order.  I've seen so many beautiful cards made with this folder.  However....I'm having a hard time finding a project that I actually like once I've made it!  Have you ever had that happen?  I see great stamp sets and great samples and then I get the set and everything I make is horrible!!  And now I'm having the same creative block with this folder...argh!  Oh well, I guess I'll just keep trying.  This card is one of my better attempts....lol.  The color combo is Mambo Melon, Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride.  I used the Create a Cupcake set and coordinating Build a Cupcake punch.  I added a little ribbon and a button for embellishments.  I finished with a few pearls.  Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add - There was a question regarding the scallop rectangle I used to mat the cupcake.  This is a retired SU product.  They are called "Hugs" notes.  They were in last year's Occasions mini.  Hope this helps!

Bliss Makes a Great Card!

The set Bliss is one of my all time favorite sets offered during Sale-a-Bration.  Often after Sale-a-Bration ends I sell my sets or just put them away and rarely use them.  I think this set will be one I contine to use, especially the flourish that's part of the set.  I've seen so many beautiful creations with this stamp.  For my card, I used the flourish in the background.  I used my markers to color the sentiment stamp in Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette and Night of Navy.  I oval punched the image and layered on a diecut from the Lots of Tags set.  I punched a border wth the Scallop Trim punch.  I added a few pearls to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Notecard Tin

So I ordered these little metal tins from Stampin Up's Clearance Rack awhile ago.  I didn't have any plans for them at the time and they've just been sitting in my craft room.  So, I decided to make a little set of notecards to put in the tins for a nice hostess gift.  I had to make the cards 4x4 in order to fit them in the tin.  I kept them pretty simple.  I only have 2 in the photo but I actually made 4.  There's also a blue and a green version.  I used various patterns of DSP in Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi and Bashful Blue.  The sentiment is from the Level 3 hostess set Occasional Quotes.  The little leaf is from the Baby Blossoms set.  I added a strip punched with the Scallop Ribbon punch.  I finished the notecards off with a little Paper Daisy and a brad.  I decorated the tin using the same basic layout.  I used a bigger Paper Daisy and a large designer brad from the Sweet Stitches collection.  The sentiment for the tin is from the set A Word for You.  I think I might make a few more of these.  They will make nice little gifts to have on hand.  Thanks for stoppping by!

Cupcake Fun

I've been having lots of fun playing with the Create a Cupcake set.  This set and coordinating Build a Cupcake punch make such quick and fun cards!  I punched out the cupcake and mounted it on an oval punch.  My color combo is Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake and Regal Rose.  The striped DSP is from a retired hostess Pattern Pack.  The sentiment is also from the Create a Cupcake set.  I love the font from this set.  I added some ribbon and a few pearls and I was done!  Quick and easy.  Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Pal Arts Color Challenge

Here's my card for this week's color challenge at Paper Pal Arts - PPA83.  The combo is Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.  The base of my card is made with Parisian Breeze DSP.  This paper is heavy weight textured card stock so it makes a good card base.  I stamped the flourish from the set Bliss on the base several times to make a wallpaper pattern.  My sentiment is from the set Vintage labels.  I punched that with a small oval punch.  The scallop strip is diecut with the Tasteful Trim die.  I added some seam binding and an antique brad.  Thanks for stopping by!

Bliss One Layer Card

This stamp set is one of the Sale a Bration sets available as a free choice through March.  It's called Bliss.  I really like the flourish stamp that I used in the background on this card.  I can see myself using this quite a bit.  I stamped the flourish in Basic Gray.  I stamped the butterfly right over the top in Concord Crush.  The sentiment is from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I added a couple rhinestones for embellishment.  I embossed the Whisper White card base with the Framed Tulip folder.  Thanks for stopping by!

Button 4 You

I made this card after I saw lots of great samples using the Mojo Monday sketch from a few weeks ago.  This is a really versatile layout.  You could use flowers or snowflakes or even just circles along the curve.  I used my Button sizzlet in a bunch of different colors - Pacific Point, Mambo Melon, Rich Razzleberry and Wild Wasabi.  The DSP is from the SAB kit Ice Cream Parlor.  I punched several Jewelry tags and hung them from a button.  The sentiment is from the Tiny Tags set.  I think that's it!  Nice and simple but really cute.  Thanks for stopping by!
