Blossoms Abound

I've been working on my blog all day!  What do you think??

Here's another card I made with the retired set Blossoms Abound.  I really love this set.  It's so easy to make beautiful cards.  I also used a sentiment from Vintage Labels and Canvas for the background.  The floral border stamp is from the new hostess set Because I Care.  For colors I used a couple returning In Colors - Wild Wasabi and Pink Pirouette.  I combined those with Rose Red.  I added a Hodge Podge Hardware frame and that's it!

Fast & Fabulous

Here's a card made with a new sneak peak set called Fast & Fabulous.  This set is great because you can do 2 step stamping or watercolor the outline stamp like I did here.  I used all new colors - Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Early Espresso.  For background stamps I used Medallion and Sanded.  I embellished with a punched flower and corduroy button.  The little tag was stamped with Tiny Tags and then punched out.

Perfect Punches and Returning In Colors

Here's a card I made showcasing some returning In Colors.  I used Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze, and Pacific Point.  All of these colors will be coming back in the next catalog in July.  I also used a new stamp  for the sentiment.  The My Friend stamp is from a  new set called Perfect Punches.  All the stamps in this set coordinate with our punches.  Very cool!  The main image is from a retired set called Blossoms Abound.  My Mom just recently tracked down this old set for me.  Thanks Mom!  I added some Bitty buttons for my flower centers.  I think these buttons and coordinating punches are my new favorite embellishment!

Presto Patterns MTSC77

Here's a quick card I made for Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge - MTSC77.  For this card I used Presto Patterns DSP.  I sponged Marina Mist, Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery on the main image panels.  I used Sahara Sand for the base and I sponged this color onto the background piece of Presto DSP.  I also sprayed this with a little Silver Foil Smooch but it's hard to tell in the photo!  For the sentiment I used Tiny Tags and layered Vintage Labels over the little flower.  Add a little Hodgepodge hardware and done!  I think I'm starting to get the hang of the Presto DSP.

Sweet Scoops MOJO142

Here's my card for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch - MOJO142.  Over the weekend I rearranged my craft studio according to the new SU color collections.  I was looking at the Brights Collection and I was struck by how great those colors really look together.  So, I decided to do a card using a Brights combo - Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Mambo Melon.  I love this combination!  For stamps I used the Sweet Scoops set and the sentiment from the Vintage Lables set.  The flower is die cut using the Daisy die.  The DSP is Island Oasis from the Summer Mini.  Great sketch, great colors and my current favorite stamp set!

Another In Color Sneak Peak

Here's another card with some new stamps and colors!  For this card I used this week's sketch at The Sweetest Thing - SSSC72.  I used a couple new sneak peak sets - Occasional Quotes and Because I Care.  The background on the Daffodil Delight piece was stamped with the Itty Bitty Bits set.  The colors are all new - Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight.  For embellishments I used the Birds and Blooms die to cut the flowers and finished them with some Itty Bitty buttons.  The bracket was cut using the Hearts and Brackets die.  These colors are so bright and happy!  I can't wait until the new catalog rolls out!

Here's another sneak peak of new catalog goodies.  For this card I used this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers - SC283.  I used a couple new sets - Fast & Fabulous for the flowers and Perfect Punches for the sentiment.  All the stamps in the Perfect Punches set coordinate with SU punches.  I just love that!  It makes the set so much more useful.  I also used some yummy new In Colors - Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait.  The embossing was done with a new folder called Vintage Wallpaper.  I'm just loving all these awesome new toys!

New Catalog Goodies!!

So, I got my catalog preorder yesterday.  I was really bad and paid for 2 day delivery!  It was worth it.  I just couldn't wait to see the new catalog.  I also really wanted to do some stamping with the new sets!!  For this card I used two new hostess sets.  The flowers are a Level 2 set called Fast & Fabulous and the sentiment is from a Level 3 set called Occasional Quotes.  Both are really nice sets and I'll be using them alot!  For the layout I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch - MTSC76.  The color combo is this week's challenge at Color Q - cQc35.  The colors are Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Green Galore, and Glorious Green.  This was tricky.  I've never used these colors together before!!

More Tropical Party Fun!

I love this new set from the Summer Mini - Tropical Party.  It's so cheerful and fun!  It makes really cute cards.  I think I'll also be putting it to use for scrapbook layouts.  This set will be great for tropical vacation photos.  On this card I used a little Island Oasis DSP for the background.  The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and So Saffron.  I used the In a Word set for the sentiment.

Sweet Sunday Sketch and Color Dare

I found another really good sketch blog while surfing this week.  The Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge looked like it would be fun to try so I gave it a whirl - SSSC71.  I also used this week's challenge from Color Dare - CD68.  The colors for the challenge were Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Soft Suede.  I used the stamp sets Fifth Avenue Floral and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The background was done on Presto Patterns DSP.  I sponged a little Soft Suede and then stamped a few random flowers.  On the focal image I embossed the oval with the Square Lattice folder and then spritzed with a little Log Cabin Smooch.

Paper Pal Arts Sketch - PPA44

Here's a bright cheerful card I made for this week's Paper Pal Arts sketch - PPA44.  I pulled out an old set for this one, Pick a Petal.  I have a feeling this set might be retiring with the new catalog in July so I thought I'd use it one more time.  I also used a little Island Oasis DSP.  The colors for this card are Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, So Saffron and Old Olive.  Another great sketch!

Presto Patterns DSP

Here's a really quick card I made using the Presto Patterns DSP.  I used sponges to dab on the ink in a random pattern. For ink I used Soft Suede, Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive. Finally I sprayed the whole thing with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz.  I really like the effect and it was super easy!  For the sentiment I used the SU set Oval All.

Diva Coffee Break Designs Sketch Challenge 177

Here's my card for this week's sketch challenge at Diva Coffee Break Designs - DCBD177.  For this card I used some Sweet Pea DSP with Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and Pink Pirouette.  I stamped the border from the Vintage Vogue set in Whisper White.  The little tags were stamped with Tiny Tags.  The flower embellishment was cut with the Island Floral die and then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  This is a great sketch to use up some of those DSP scraps!!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch - MTSC 74

I made this card for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge - MTSC74.  For stamps I used Greenhouse Garden and Sincere Salutations.  For the stamped panel under the greeting, I stamped a bunch of flowers then I ran the piece through my Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  It creates a texture that's almost linen like.  Then I sprayed it with Smooch Spritz.  For colors I used Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette.  I'm psyched Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette are returning but I'm a little sad to see Perfect Plum go.  It's not a color I use a ton but I think it's a beautiful shade.
