Along the Shore

Here's a great old retired SU set - Along the Shore. I borrowed this from my Mom. I just love the Adirondack chair! I used my Nestabilites as a stencil on this project. I've never tried that before but it was a piece of cake. After I ran it through my Big Shot, I left the die in place and chalked the inside of the image. That left a really crisp white border. I just colored with my blender pens and watercolor crayons as usual. It was super easy!!

Stamp TV Challenges

Here are a couple projects I made for challenges at Stamp TV this week. The first is a color challenge using pink and green....two of my favorite colors!! I used the Bloomin Beautiful stamp set. I've had my eye on this set for years and finally just got it. I love it!!

The second project is for a sketch challenge. I really like this layout....very versatile. I used my Circle Scissors Plus to cut the ring. Once I got the hang of it, the Circle Scissors it's a great tool. I use it all the time.

One Layer card with Love Bug

So here's a project I did with only one layer. For me, this is a pretty tough challenge. I like to use lots of layers! I added a little texture in the background by scoring a diamond pattern. The stamp set is Love Bug and I colored it with a blender pen and Watercolor Wonder Crayons. I think it came out pretty good....

Just can't get enough of those In Colors!!!

Here's yet another project using the new In Colors. I just love them!! For this card I used one of my favorite sets...Branch Out. I'm very sad this one didn't make it into the current catalog but I bet it will be back next year. Keeping my fingers crossed!! I use this tree all the time.
I bought a new OTT light for my craft room. What do you think of the colors? Does this picture look a little better than the last few? The light is very different and little hard to get used to. I think I like it...

I'm just loving these new In Colors!! Here's another card using the new colors and the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I'm running out of this paper already !! I'm going to have to add some to my next order. The stamp set is Greenhouse Garden. It's so quick and easy to make a beautiful card with these stamps. I made this card for this week's sketch challenge on StampTV. It's a great sketch....

Two more projects for Mom's Stamp Camp

Here are the final two projects for the Stamp Camp at my Mom's in a couple weeks. The first card is a gift card holder. I used the new set Tree Trimmings. I embossed the ornaments with gold embossing powder. The white background uses the new embossing folder Finial Press. I think this came out really nice. It's very elegant in real life.

The second card uses the new 2 Step Stampin set Garden Greenhouse. I just love the hibiscus image in this set! This uses all new In Colors and the new Big Shot Lattice die. This one's quick and easy but still very pretty.

In Color Birthday Card

Here's a quick card I put together for an upcoming workshop. This uses all new In Colors and new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I really like the new colors and this patterned paper is very versatile. The stamp set is On Your Birthday. I use this set all the time!!

Card for Patti's workshop

Here's one of the cards we're going to make at Patti's workshop on Sunday. I got some awesome new stuff today! New dies, stamps and embossing folders!! On this card we're using the Garden Greenhouse stamp set and the new Big Shot Lattice die. Love it!!

My first upload on StampTV!

So, there's a new stamping community I've started to follow. It's called StampTV. It was started by a woman named Gina K. She has her own line of stamps. She started the community to share tutorials. It's a great site...check it out here.

They have challenges just like SCS. Here's my first card. This was a technique challenge called Poppin Pastels. For this technique you stamp with Versamark and then "pop" the image with chalk pastels. Gina K has a video on her site if you want to see it done. It's super easy and you really expand your color choices when you have all the chalks to choose from.

Rubbernecker Frog

This stamp is from Rubbernecker Stamp Company. I just love this frog! I colored this image with colored pencils and then shaded it with a blending stump and mineral spirits. It's a fun technique. A little easier than an aquapainter or Copics! I used Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango cardstock. I'm going to miss those In Colors!! Oh well, I love the new ones too!!

My winning card!

I got some great news from Stampin Up! today. My card was chosen for the July Art Contest! Every month SU publishes a demo magazine called Stampin Success. Each month there are a few contests in various categories that demos can enter. I entered the July contest called Sensational Scallops. My project needed to showcase scalloped designs. My card will be featured in the September addition!! Yay!!

I chose the set Cheep Talk. I added a scalloped valance to the top of my focal point. I punched the strip with the Scallop Border punch, then I used a stair fold and attached it with my sewing machine. I also used the Sizzlets set Birds and Blooms. This set has some scalloped flowers.

Woo hoo!!! I won!!

Another SCS Challenge

Here's another weekly challenge from Splitcoast. This is Color Challenge - CC225 and Sketch Challenge SC235. The colors for this week are So Saffron, Night of Navy and Kraft. It's a good combination...one that I wouldn't normally use but it turned out well. I really like the sketch. I used my Nestabilities but this would work well with circles or squares too!!

First Order!!

Well....ordering was delayed a little bit on the SU website. Instead of starting at 2pm they had to push it to 2:30. I got my first order in by 2:34!! Woo hoo....lot's of great stuff for my Mom's upcoming Stamp Camp. I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as it arrives.

The new catalog is here!!

Stay tuned for updates later today on the brand new Stampin Up! catalog. The catalog goes live today at 12pm MT....that's 2pm here on the east coast!! I'll keep you posted......
