Another Holiday Mini Sneak Peek

Well, I just got back from vacation so I'm sorry I've been out of touch for a week!  Here's another Christmas card with some Holiday Mini goodies.  I really struggled with this layout.  I finally came up with this design.  Hope you like it.  I used the new set Tags til Christmas for the little Santa suit.  The little Merry tag is stamped with Tiny Tags and the snowflakes for the background are from the set Serene Snowflake.  The DSP is also new from the Holiday mini and it's called Candy Cane Christmas.  I kept the colors pretty simple, just Real Red and Baja Breeze.  The rick rack was cut with the new die Tasteful Trims.  This is an awesome die!  I'm going to be using it alot.  I also used my Top Note die for a background for the tag.  For punches I used the Tag punches and the Jewelry Tag.  I embellished with a little ribbon and a Big Designer button.  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Q & 2 Sketches 4 You Challenges

Here's my card for a couple of this week's challenges.  This is for cQc46 and 2S4Y59.  I used the stamp set Punched Posies.  This is a hostess set from the Summer Mini.  I got it with my last order and decided to give it a try tonight.  I think I like it!  The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla.  For punches I used the Butterfly, Slot, and Scallop Trim border.  I embossed with the Square Lattice folder and finished with a designer button.  My sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases.  I think this is one of the most versatile sets in the new catalog.  It's great for cards and scrapbooking.  And I just love the font!  Thanks for stopping by.

Second Project for Sharon's Workshop

Here's the second project for Sharon's upcoming workshop.  This card also uses lots of new Holiday Mini goodies.  The stamp is from the set Word Play.  I stamped this in Whisper White and then heat embossed it.  I punched it with the new Decorative Label punch.  The DSP is a new specialty paper called Candy Cane Christmas.  I die cut that with the new die Tasteful Trim.  The colors for this card are Baja Breeze, Real Red and Whisper White.  The background is embossed with the Square Lattice folder.  The snowflake embellishment is cut with the new die Northern Frost.  I added a Big Designer Button from the Candy Cane pack.  These new buttons are big and chunky and come in great colors!  I finished it off with a little ribbon.  Hope everyone likes it!

Tasteful Trim Holiday Mini Sneak Peek

Here's a quick Christmas card with some more Holiday Mini sneak peek items.  It's getting to be that time of year again.  Time to start thinking about those Christmas cards!  I wanted to try out my new Tasteful Trim die.  This card didn't really turn out the way I wanted it to but I do really like the die.  The stamp is from the set Word Play.  I love all the funky fonts in this set.  I punched the sentiment with the new Decorative Label punch and popped up the ornament.  The colors are Early Esspresso, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride.  I finished this off with a couple Glimmer brads that are also from the Holiday Mini.  Thanks for stopping by!!

First Project for Sharon's Workshop

Here's a card using a bunch of new Holiday Mini goodies!  This is a project for an upcoming workshop.  The ornament stamp is from the new set Tags til Christmas.  I punched it out with the ornament punch and layered that on a new punch called Decorative Label.  I think this punch might be my new favorite item from the mini!  The DSP is also new from the Holiday Mini.  It's called Candy Cane Christmas.  This is a specialty paper.  Several of the sheets are glittery.  The background was embossed with the new folder Northern Flurry.  The sentiment is from the set Many Merry Messages.  I think the font works really well on this card.  The colors are Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Garden Green and Real Red.  The center of the ornamnet has a new Glimmer brad and I finished with a little ribbon.  Wow!!  Lots of new stuff on this one.  The Holiday Mini items will be available for purchase on September 1st.  Thanks for stopping by!

ColorQ 45 & 2Sketches4You 58

I made this card for a couple of this week's challenges - cQc45 and 2s4y58.  The stamp set is from SU and it's called Cottage Garden.  The set has a nice mix of images and I really like the sentiment.  The color combo is Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise and Early Espresso.  The pattern paper is some I pulled from my stash.  I think it's from The Angel Company.  The tag is a die cut from Spellbinders.  I also used a couple border punches.  I finished this off with a little ribbon and some pearls.  I don't have any Early Espresso ribbon yet so I just took a piece of white and pressed it into my stamp pad a few times to pick up the ink.  That's a great way to expand your ribbon choices.  I always have white on hand!  Thanks for stopping by.

Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge - TSSC133

I found another good sketch challenge this week.  Here's my card for the Techno Stamper Sketch - TSSC133.  I used the SU set Aviary again.  I'm getting a lot of use out of these little birdcages!!  This card is pretty simple.  For colors I used Early Espresso, Mambo Melon, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz.  The flower embellishment is the SU die Blossom Party.  I think this is my new favorite die.  I used the Scallop Ribbon and corner rounder punches.  The DSP is a retired pattern called Razzleberry Lemonade.  I finished with a little Pear Pizzazz ribbon.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch and SCS Color Challenge

Here's another card for a couple challenges.  I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch - MTSC85 and Splitcoast's Color Challenge - CC282.  The stamp is another new one from SU called Word Play.  I used my markers to color directly on the stamp.  The color combo for the challenge was Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red and Early Espresso.  I used some SU Paper Daisies that I dyed to match my colors.  The embossing folder is Victoria from Cuttlebug.  I did some piercing around the Blushing Bride cardstock and finished with some pearls and ribbon.  The diecut behind my stamped image is another one from my new set.  Sorry, I don't know who makes this!  I really wish I hadn't thrown away the packaging!  Thanks for stopping by.

Update - I did some searching and found out the maker of my new dies is Nellie's Choice.  I knew it was a woman's name!!

2 Sketches 4 You - Sketch 58

Here's another card using the new SU set Aviary.  I really like these cute little bird cages!  This card was for this week's sketch challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You -2S4Y58.  For colors I used Concord Crush, Baja Breeze and Sahara Sand.  My DSP is from the retired pattern Thoroughly Modern.  For punches I used Scallop Ribbon and Jewelery tag.  My sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I embellished this with ribbon and a Hodge Podge ribbon slide.  The stamped image is layered on a die cut frame that I just got a couple weeks ago at a stamp expo.  Unfortunately I threw away the packaging so I have no idea who makes these!!  I'm bummed about that because they had lots of great designs and I don't know what they are called.  Oh well, I'm sure I'll see them again.  Thanks for stopping by.
