More Watercolor Trio Fun

Here's another card with the retired set Watercolor Trio.  I'm having a lot of fun creating with this set!  I used more new In Colors on this project - Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight.  I used my markers to color directly on the stamp.  The sentiment is from the same set.  This set has really great sentiments in a very lovely font.  I added a strip punched with my scallop border punch.  I also pierced each scallop for a little more embellishment.  Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Trio in New In Colors

I was so happy to get this set from my Mom.  This is one of those sets I never bought when it was available and then regretted it!  I was hoping this set would make it into the new catalog but it didn't.  Lucky for me, my Mom had the set and was willing to trade me for it!  I made this card all in new In Colors - Pool Party, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade.  I added a strip punched with the scallop ribbon punch to my background layer.  I decided to keep this card pretty simple.  My only embellishment is a couple little paper daisies with rhinestone centers.  I love that these daisies can be dyed any color.  I'm running low...better get another package!  Thanks for stopping by.

Projects for Mom's Workshop

I have a workshop coming up for my Mom and her friends.  I have two projects planned.  I hope they like them!!
The first uses the new hostess set Faith in Nature.  I stamped the flower and then inked a little color into the center with a sponge dauber.  My colors are Wisteria Wonder, Basic Black and Basic Gray.  I made my sample into a sympathy card but it could easily work for any occasion.  My sentiment is from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I used my scallop edge punch on the background layer.  I embossed the second layer with the Final Press folder.  I added a rhinestone to finish it off.
The second project also uses a new In Color.  For this card I used Pool Party, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  My focal image uses the acrylic block technique.  I inked my block in Pool Party and then used it like a stamp.  It makes a really nice background.  Then I stamped the Sail Away image.  I added some speckles with the color spritzer to age it a little.  I also roughed up the edges a little with the distressing tool.  The bottom edge is punched with the scallop ribbon punch.  I hope the workshop goes well.  Thanks for stopping by!

Scalloped Hello

I made another card with the Swirls & Curls Verses set from the Summer mini.  This font is so much fun it can even be used for a focal point.  I stamped the "hello" inside the polka dotted Four Frames stamp and then punched it out with my Decorative Label punch.  The background DSP will be available in the new catalog.  Its called Just Add Cake.  I added several layered scallop borders that were cut with the Tasteful Trim die.  I used lots of different colors - Early Espresso, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi.  I added a little ribbon, a corduroy button and some Baker's Twine to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Beyond the Garden Happy Greetings

I haven't used much of the DSP from the Summer mini so I figured I better get it out for my next project!  The DSP is called Beyond the Garden.  Its very bright and pretty.  For this card I used a piece that contains Wild Wasabi and Mellon Mambo.  My sentiment is also from the Summer mini.  The set is called Happy Greetings.  The card base is embossed with the Elegant Lines folder.  I used the Tasteful Trim die for a couple scallop edge pieces.  My flower embellishment is a combination of a Paper Daisy, a die cut daisy and a button.  Thanks for stopping by!

Swirls & Curls Birthday

Here's another little sneak peek from the new catalog.  For this card I used some new DSP called Just Add Cake.  This paper has lots of bright cheery colors and fun patterns.  My color combo is Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi.  I used the same basic layout as the last card I posted since I really like the way it turned out!  My sentiment is from the Level 1 hostess set Swirls & Curls that's currently available in the Summer mini.  I just got this set with my last order and I really like it.  The font is super cute!  I colored the little balloons with my blender pen.  I used the spiral border punch along the top edge.  I'm a little sad to see this punch retire.  I haven't used it enough!  Oh well, I'll still use it.  My flower embellishment was made with the Blossom Bouquet punch and a button.  The branches are punched with the Bird and Branch punch.  I added a little Baker's Twine to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Pieced Scooter

I made another card with the On the Grow set.  This time instead of coloring the scooter I pieced some polka dot DSP.  This DSP is retired but I was looking for some with a really small pattern.  This worked well.  I wish I had a funky polka dotted scooter like this!  My color combo is Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.  I added a couple felt flowers and a button in the corner.  I couldn't decide where to place my sentiment but finally settled on just below the scooter.  Its from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Thanks for stopping by!

Faith in Nature CAS

I made another card with the Faith in Nature set.  This set makes such beautiful and elegant cards.  I decided to go with a clean and simple layout for this card.  I think the stamp speaks for itself and you really don't need anything else.  I watercolored the pear with reinkers and an aquapainter.  My color combo is Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and a little Daffodil Delight for highlights on the pear.  I added a border along the bottom edge of the card punched with the scallop ribbon punch and a little tab of ribbon.  These are really my only embellishments.  I also used a distressing tool around the edges of my focal point.  This adds a little texture and helps the image stand out.  Thanks for stopping by!

Pennant Parade

Here's another card I made with the sneak peek set Pennant Parade.  I kept this pretty simple, just focusing on the pennants.  I punched these with the coordinating Petite Pennants punch.  My color combo is Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo.  The last two are new In Colors.  I really like this combination!  I think Rich Razzleberry looks great with all the new colors.  I think its going to be my new go to color.  I popped the pennants up and strung them on some Baker's Twine.  The sentiment is also from the Pennant Parade set.  Simple and fun.  Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolored Sail Away

I made another card with the single stamp Sail Away.  I really like this stamp.  I think it's going to be one of my all time favorites.  Right up there with Peaceful Wishes!  I've yet to make a card I haven't liked with this stamp.  For this project I decided to watercolor the image with reinkers and my aquapainter.  I love how it turned out!  My color combo is Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.  I used the Square Lattice embossing folder on the background layer.  I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine for embellishment.  My sentiment is from the set You're a Gem.  I also used my color spritzer to add some depth to the focal image.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Greetings

I took a little break from the new catalog goodies to get some ink on a Summer mini set.  I got my Summer mini sets a little late and I don't think they're getting enough love!  The focal image on this card is from the set Happy Greetings.  I used my markers to color directly on the stamp in Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi.  The DSP is also from the mini.  It's called Beyond the Garden,  I like this particular pattern a lot.  It's small but not too small...just right for cards.  I added some Whisper White punched with the scallop trim punch.  The card base is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  My flower embellishment is a combination of a Paper Daisy, a die cut daisy and a corduroy button.  I like the way it turned out.  I still have quite a few Paper Daisies left so I think I'll make some more of these!  Thanks for stopping by.

Pennant Parade in new In Colors

Here's my second card with some more sneak peek items.  For this card I used all new In Colors - Pool Party, Island Indigo and Wisteria Wonder.  This is a great combo!  I'll be using this again.  The stamp set is also new.  It's called Pennant Parade.  The set has several different pennants and a bunch of single words.  I think it's really versatile.  It also coordinates with the new Petite Pennant punch.  My sentiment is from the set Happy Greetings currently available in the Summer mini.  The scallop border was cut with the Tasteful Trims die.  My background is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  Thanks for stopping by!

New Catalog Sneak Peek!!

Well, I've had a couple days to pour over the new catalog and I must say I'm really pleased with it.  There are so many awesome new stamp sets that I think everyone will be happy.  The longer I look at the catalog the longer my wish list gets!  Here's my first card with one of the new hostess sets.  This set is called Faith in Nature.  I love the combination of image and script.  I also used a couple new In Colors.  The green is called Lucky Limeade and the orange color is Calypso Coral.  I love all the new colors and I think you will too!  I paired these with Chocolate Chip.  I colored the image with reinkers and an aquapainter.  The sentiment is from the Summer mini and its from the set Happy Greetings.  The bottom edge is a new punch called Lace Ribbon.  It's very intricate and quite pretty.  I finished it off with some linen thread and a corduroy button.  Well, I hope you like this first sneak peek!  Thanks for stopping by.

Sponged Sail Away

I got my new catalog preorder yesterday!!  I've been pouring over the new catalog so much I haven't had time to do any stamping yet!  So...I hope you don't mind seeing another Sail Away card.  I promise I'll have something new for my next post.  For this card I stamped the sail boat with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I sponged over the image with Not Quite Navy.  It turned out really nice.  I used the distressing tool from the cutter kit to rough up the edges.  I also stamped a few splotches from the set Fall Foliage.  My color combo is Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla.  I added some Baker's Twine and a little tag cut with the Jewelry tag punch.  The sentiment is from the set Tiny Tags.  Thanks for stopping by!

On the Grown Flowers

I made another card with the On the Grow set.  This set is a lot of fun to watercolor.  Just the right size and amount of detail.  I colored this with an aquapainter and reinkers.  My colors are Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight.  The DSP is from the Summer mini.  It's called Beyond the Garden.  My stamped focal image is die cut with oval Nesties.  I used the scallop border punch along the bottom edge.  My sentiment is layered on two punches - Word Window and Modern Label.  I embellished this with a Glimmer brad.  I realized that I hardly ever use these brads.  I gotta get them out more often!  Finally I added a ruffled strip of Whisper White ribbon.  Thanks for stopping by!
