Hello Doily in Crumb Cake

I was having a little creative block with this new background stamp - Hello Doily.  I really like the stamp but I was having a hard time coming up with cards I liked.  So, I checked out some other samples made with this set to get my creative juices flowing.  I found a great card on Stampin Connection.  I changed up the colors and used some different stamps but the basic layout is the same.  My color combo is Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.  The sentiment is from the set Happy Greetings.  I punched this with a circle punch to make it my focal point.  I layered a couple edge punches; scallop border and pinking hearts along with some crochet trim.  I think I'm getting the hang of this stamp!  Thanks for stopping by.

Belated Birthday Button Buddies

I just love this new set called Button Buddies.  My problem is that I don't have buttons in all the colors I might want to use.  So, for this card I made my own.  I stamped the buttons with the set Button, Button and punched them with my circle punch.  I punched 5 or 6 more circles in each color and stacked them together.  I added some Baker's Twine and Crystal Effects to make them look like buttons.  I love these little snails.  They make a great belated birthday card.  I hate to admit it since I always have hundreds of cards on hand but sometimes I do send one a little late.  My greeting is from the new hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes.  I punched that with my oval punch and layered it on a scallop oval.  My color combo is Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Tempting Turquoise.  I added a couple die cut buttons for embellishment.  Thanks for stopping by!

Projects for Sharon's Workshop

I have a workshop coming up in a couple weeks.  These are the two projects I have planned.  I hope everyone likes them!
This is the second card I've made with the Hello Doily background stamp and I like this one much better.  I decided to use half the stamp instead of trying to fit the whole thing on a card.  My color combo is Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  My greeting is from the set Petite Pairs.  I punched this with a circle punch and layered it on top of some crochet trim.  I punched a few flowers and added some pearl centers.  The bottom piece is embossed with the Houndstooth folder.
The second project was requested by the hostess.  You may recognize this from an earlier post.  I used the Field Flowers set on Crumb Cake cardstock.  For ink I used Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Old Olive.  I sponged the edges of my focal image to make it pop.  That's it...very simple and elegant.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Doily Emboss Resist

I've been playing around with the new background stamp Hello Doily.  Its a very pretty stamp but I've been struggling a little to come up with designs I really like.  This card turned out okay.  I like the embossed doily and the color combo.  I think the composition still needs a little work.  My colors are Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White.  I stamped the doily in Versamark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I sponged Island Indigo ink over the top.  The embossing resists the ink and only colors the cardstock.  My sentiment is from the set You're a Gem.  I added a little ruffled ribbon along the bottom.  I think its the ribbon that's throwing off the design.  Maybe I should have left that off.  I added a new polka dot brad to the center of my doily.  I hope I like my next card with this stamp more.  Sometimes I buy a stamp that I really like but it just never clicks for me.  I hope that doesn't happen with this stamp!  Thanks for stopping by.

Up, Up & Away Birthday

I made another card with my favorite set Up, Up & Away.  I love this set.  Its so much fun to stamp with!  I used all new In Colors - Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Blushing Bride.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I popped up my focal image on some dimensionals.  For punches I used a large circle and the scallop edge punch.  My background piece is embossed with the Houndstooth folder.  I added a little ruffled ribbon to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Another Vacation MDS Page

I'm slowly making progress on my scrapbooking pages from our vacation last April.  Here's another page I made using My Digital Studio.  I love that MDS is so easy to use. It works great with all the various digi elements on the market.  The papers and elements on this page are from Sweet Shoppe Designs.  The kit is called Tropical Hideaway.  I love the bright, tropical feel of this page.  I spent a lot of my vacation relaxing in that hammock!  Thanks for stopping by.

Field Flowers CAS

Here's a clean and simple card I made with a new set called Field Flowers.  This set has beautiful artwork.  Its a 2 step stampin set and its super easy to make a beautiful card with it.  I stamped my flowers with Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip.  I spritzed the card to create a little depth.  I also stamped the bottom right corner with the Sandy Speckles wheel.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I really like that most of Stampin Up's new sets include greetings.  Thanks for stopping by!

Button Buddies

Here's my second project with my new catalog order.  For this card I used the set Button Buddies.  I stamped it 3 times in different colors and then cut out the individual layers.  I popped up each layer on dimensionals and added a button in the center.  This set is great because all the images have a spot to add a button.  I love to embellish with buttons so its perfect for me!  The background is made with the new letterpress plate called Fancy Fan.  This is the first letterpress I have tried.  It worked really well.  I think next time I'll use a lighter color, maybe more of a tone on tone.  Its a little overpowering on this card.  Lesson learned!  My color combo is Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.  My sentiment is also new.  Its from the set Petite Pairs.  For punches I used circles and scallop circles.  I added some ruffled ribbon to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

New Catalog Goodies!

Yay!  I finally got a little time tonight to play with my new catalog goodies.  I'm really happy with all the things I got in my first order.  My wish list is still pretty long but I made a good start on it!  For this card I'm using my favorite set from the new catalog - Up, Up & Away.  I really love these cute hot air balloons.  My colors for this card are Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Concord Crush.  My background is embossed with a new folder called Houndstooth.  I also used a couple new embellishments.  The new ruffled In Color ribbon is very pretty.  I added a new In Color brad as well.  I used several punches  - circle, scallop circle and scallop ribbon.  The sentiment is also from the Up, Up & Away set.  I like that the set is a nice mixture of images and sentiments.  That makes it very useful...more bang for my buck!  Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Cake Cupcake

I've got some good news and bad news.  My new catalog order arrives tomorrow!  That's the good news.  The bad news is I will have house guests and won't be able to play with my new stuff!  My husband and his family are very big Boston sports fans and the Stanley Cup is making an appearance in Lake Placid tomorrow.  So, lots of family in town and no time to fondle my lovely new things!  Here's a cute project to tide you over.  I promise the next card will be something from the new catalog!

This card uses the Just Add Cake DSP.  My colors are Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi and Blushing Bride.  My cupcake is stamped with the Create a Cupcake set and punched with the coordinating punch. I layered that on a circle punch and two fancy flower punches.  My sentiment is retired from the set Hugs & Wishes.  Finally I added some scallop ribbon.  This ribbon has polka dots on the other side.  I decided to go with the plain side.  I used my corner rounder punches also.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July

I got this cute set as one of my freebies during Sale-a-Bration and hadn't used it yet.  I decided to pull it out this morning.  It's called Holiday Happiness.  I really like that there is a nice sentiment with the set.  Before we know it the Holiday Mini will be out and we'll all be working on Christmas cards!  I used some DSP from last year's mini called Candy Cane Christmas.  My color combo is Garden Green, Baja Breeze, Real Red and Blushing Bride.  I used my corner rounder punch on the bottom right corners of all my pieces.  I also added a strip punched with the scallop ribbon punch to anchor my focal image.  I didn't add any embellishments to this card.  I think the pattern paper is enough on its own.  And, this one will be easy to mail!  Thanks for stopping by.

Pennant Parade Hello

I made this cute card last night.  I'm impatiently waiting for my new catalog order so I decided to play a little more with my preorder goodies.  I really like this set because it's great for lots of different occasions.  The sentiments are perfect.  My color combo is Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Pink Pirouette.  I stamped and then punched the pennants with the coordinating punch.  I popped up the centers with dimensionals.  My background mat is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  I added a couple Itty Bitty buttons to embellish the pennants and finished it off with some Baker's Twine.  Thanks for stopping by!

Silhouette Sentiments

I got this set with my June preorder and I haven't really played with it much.  This is a hostess set from last year's catalog called Silhouette Sentiments.  I used a couple new In Colors for this card - Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade along with Elegant Eggplant.  I like that this set has several small sentiments along with the other images.  I think I'll hold onto it for awhile.  The bottom panel is embossed with the Finial Press folder.  I layered my sentiment on a scallop circle punch.
I placed my first order from the new catalog on the 1st!  I hope to have some new goodies for you next week.  I didn't expedite my order and now I wish I did.  It's gonna be a long week!  Thanks for stopping by.

MDS Jamaica Digi Page

I've been slowly working on the scrapbook pages from our vacation last April.  I've got a handful done so I thought I'd post one today.  I made this page with My Digital Studio.  The paper and elements are from a kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs called Tropical Hideaway.  The stitched elements are from a recent SU download called Simple Stitches and Corners.  I love this download!  I've always really liked the look of stitching on my pages but dragging out the sewing machine is such a pain.  Now its soooo simple with MDS!  I love scrapping this way.  I had second thoughts about posting this page since there are dreaded bathing suit shots...UGH!  But, I really like how it turned out and I kept the picture of me pretty small...LOL.  Thanks for stopping by!

One More Watercolor Trio

Ok...so here's one more Watercolor Trio card.  I used new In Colors again - Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Blushing Bride.  I stamped the flowers and embossed the image with the Square Lattice folder.  Next I added a border punched with the scallop trim punch.  Finally I cut the whole thing with the Top Note die. My sentiment is layered on the Word Window and Modern Label punches.  It's from the set On the Grow.  I like the delicate font with these pretty flowers.  I added a Glitter brad and a couple paper daisies.  I dyed the daisies with a little ink and added pearl centers.  The background pieces are stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds and a non SU diamond pattern.  Thanks for stopping by!
