Splitcoast SC291 and Color Q cQc43

Here's a card for a couple challenges.  I used this week's sketch challenge from Splitcoast - SC291 and the color challenge from Color Q - cQc43.  I'm having a lot of fun playing around with my new set Butterfly Prints.  I'm not usually a butterfly kinda girl but this set is awesome.  Making a cute card is so fast and easy!  The color combo is Early Espresso, Peach Parfait, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay.  I used the butterfly and slot punches.  Behind my sentiment I stamped the flourish from Vintage Vogue in Crumb Cake.  The DSP is from the In Color Pattern Pack.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Aviary Splitcoast Challenge - SC290

I finally got some ink on my new Aviary stamp set!  I love these cute little bird cages.  For this card I used last week's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers - SC290.  I used Pacific Point, Regal Rose and Daffodil Delight for my color combo.  The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases.  Love that font!  I embossed the background with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  For punches I used the Scallop Ribbon, Word Window and Modern Label.  The DSP is from the Sunny Garden pack and I finished with a couple Hodge Podge brads.  I think those are a little large....next time I'll use something smaller, maybe pearls or rhinestones.  Thanks for stopping by!!

The Sweetest Thing & Color Throwdown Challenges

Here's a quick card I made for a couple challenges - SSSC79 and CTD102.  I used a brand new set called Word Play.  I love all the different fonts in this set.  For colors I used Not Quite Navy, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist.  I used my markers to color directly on the stamp so each word is a different color.  The ribbon was punched with the Scallop Ribbon punch.  Thanks for stopping by!!

I had a question about the embossing folder I used.  Sorry I forgot to include the details on that!!  The folder is from Cuttlebug and it's called Victoria.  This is the first time I've used it but I know it won't be the last!!

Butterfly Prints

I just got this new set in the mail.  It's called Butterfly Prints.  It's so quick and easy to make a card with this set.  I stamped the butterflies in Pacific Point, Marina Mist and Rich Razzleberry.  I punched them out with the butterfly punch and added a sentiment.  Super quick and easy!  The sentiment is from the set Fabulous Phrases.  I think I'm going to get a ton of use from this set!  Thanks for stopping by.

Holly's Scrapbook Workshop

I have a workshop this weekend for my friend Holly and she wanted to do scrapbooking.  Here's the layout I put together.  I just got the new SU exclusive die Blossom Party and I thought it would go great with the new Sunny Garden DSP.  The die cut flowers are so darn cute!  I also used the Top Note and Hearts and Brackets die.  I love to use brackets in my scrapbooking.  Here I covered chipboard with Poppy Parade cardstock and then die cut them.  I used the stamp set Cottage Garden which coordinates with the Sunny Garden DSP.  My journaling words are from the set Fabulous Phrases.  The colors are all brand new - Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight.  I used Crumb Cake for the background since all those colors are really bright.  The Pear Pizzazz ribbon strip is punched with the new Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  I love this punch!!  I finished with a couple Itty Bitty buttons.  I hope everyone likes the layout!  Thanks for stopping by.

Clean and Simple Itty Bitty Bits

Here's a card I stamped awhile ago and I'm finally getting around to posting it!  This is a clean and simple card.  Sometimes simple is better.  The stamp set is SU's Itty Bitty Bits.  I used Whisper White card stock.  The ink colors are last year's In Colors - Bermuda Bay, Mambo Melon, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry and Dusty Durango.  I do miss Bermuda Bay.  I wish it had made the cut!!  I punched the images with the Itty Bitty Shapes punches and adhered them with dimensionals for a little depth.  The sentiment is from the set Birthday Bliss.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Tropical Party Beach Scene

It's been so hot here in the Adirondacks that I really wish I was at the beach!  I thought this card would be perfect.  I actually stamped the scene awhile ago but I kept looking at the card thinking it needed something.  I got my new set Fabulous Phrases yesterday and I thought that would be perfect.  The beach scene is stamped with the set Tropical Party.  To make the background I just sponged a few layers of browns and then used the Color Spritzer to give the sand some depth.  The colors are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Mambo Melon, and Pink Pirouette.  The greeting is layered on the punches Word Window, Modern Label and Oval.  The card base was embossed with the Square Lattice folder.  Thanks for stopping by!

Second Project for Mom's Workshop

Here's the second card for my Mom's upcoming workshop.  The main image is stamped with the new set Just Believe.  I stamped that on Presto Patterns DSP.  The paper gives it some really nice depth and texture.  I also used the new embossing folder Vintage Wallpaper and then spritzed that with a little Log Cabin Smooch.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes but really any greeting would work on this card.  The colors are all new - Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Early Espresso.  I finished with a couple pearls on the Lots of Tags die cut.  Thanks for stopping by!

First Project for Mom's Workshop

This card is one of the projects we'll be doing at my Mom's upcoming workshop.  I used lots of new stuff on this card.  The background is Presto Patterns DSP sponged with Concord Crush, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi.  The sentiment is from the set Perfect Punches.  I used the new Scallop Ribbon punch - my favorite new punch!!  The flower is also a new embellishment.  It's a Paper Daisy.  These come in a bunch of different sizes all in white.  I dyed this with a few drops of Marina Mist reinker mixed with water.  It was really easy and now I have Paper Daisies in any color I need!  Very cool.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch - MTSC81

Here's my card for this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch - MTSC81.  I got some new SU goodies this week.  My first order from the new catalog was mostly paper and ink but I did throw in a couple stamp sets.  For this card I originally intended to use my new set Aviary but the whimsical birdcages just didn't fit with this DSP.  So instead I used the bird from the new set Punch Potpourri.  I really like how all the stamps in this hostess set coordinate with punches.  The DSP is new also.  It's called Sunny Garden.  I think my favorite new accessory is the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch.  I can see this getting a lot of use on my upcoming projects!  The colors for this card are all new as well - Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight.  I threw in a few pearls and rhinestones for a little bling!  Thanks for stopping by!
