ColorQ 52 Challenge

Here's my card for this week's ColorQ challenge - cQc52.  This week was a sketch challenge with any past color combination.  I chose cQc18 - Mambo Melon, Baja Breeze, Old Olive and So Saffron.  I really like this combo for a nontraditional Christmas card.  The bright, cheery colors are fun and retro!  The ornament is from the Tags til Christmas stamp set.  The sentiment is from the wheel Jolly Jingles.  I rarely buy wheels but I saw a great tip on Splitcoast.  I took the stamp off the wheel, mounted it on some EZ Mount cling foam and then cut the words apart.  I got 15 Christmas greetings for $8.50!  And it was surprisingly easy to cut apart.  Love this!  I embossed the mat behind the ornament with the Petals a Plenty folder.  The DSP is Candy Cane Christmas from the Holiday mini.  I added some ruffled ribbon and a Glimmer brad.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Cards for Stamp Camp

Here's a group of Christmas cards I have planned for an upcoming stamp camp.  I hope everyone likes them!

I stamped Dasher and then punched with a circle punch.  I layered that on two flowers cut with the Island Floral die.  The greeting is from the set Holiday's & Wishes.  The color combo is Blushing Bride, Soft Suede and Real Red.  The DSP is Christmas Cocoa (retired).  I punched a strip with the Scallop Trim Border and then added another scalloped strip cut with the Tasteful Trim die.  I finished with a little ribbon.

For this card I stamped with the set Serene Snowflake.  The sentiment is from the set Short & Sweet.  The colors are Marina Mist and Concord Crush.  I think this makes a nice wintery combo.  The DSP is from the Hostess Pattern Pack.  I punched the bottom edge of the Shimmery White card stock with the Eyelet Border punch.  The snowflakes were cut with the Northern Frost die and finished with a pearl.

This card is a little more traditional.  The color combo is Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso and Old Olive.  I stamped a tag from the set Tags til Christmas.  I colored directly on the stamp with my markers leaving out the "To" and "From".  In that space I stamped the sentiment from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I punched this with the Decorative Label punch.  The background is embossed with the Petals a Plenty folder.  I finished with a little ribbon.

And finally I have a clean and simple card.  I stamped the ornament three times from the set Tags til Christmas.  The colors are Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze and Rose Red.  I punched them out with the Ornament punch.  The sentiment is from the set Many Merry Messages.  I added a few rhinestones to embellish the ornaments.

Three Challenges in One!

This is a first for me.  I've never done one card for three challenges before. I have to say, I really like how this card turned out!  These challenges worked really well together.  I used the color combo from Color Q - cQc51.  The sketch is from Paper Pal Arts - PPA61.  I haven't played along with the Paper Pal blog in awhile.  I love this sketch!  Finally, I found a new challenge blog, SU Only Challenges - SUOC2.  I'm going to like playing along with SU only challenges!

For my card, I used the stamp set Just Believe.  I used my markers to color the stamp.  The combo is Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and So Saffron.  The SU Only challenge was to use the Big Shot.  I cut my Old Olive tag with the Lots of Tags sizzlet.  I layed my sentiment from the set On Your Birthday with the Oval punch.  I used my corner rounder on the main image and finished with some pearls.  Thanks for stopping by!

Second Project for Karen's Workshop

Here's the second project I have planned for an upcoming workshop.  For this card I used the large snowflake from the SU set Serene Snowflakes.  I inked this with Bashful Blue and then used the rock-n-roll technique to add some Concord Crush.  I added some snowflakes cut with the Northern Frost die.  The DSP is from the Hostess Level 1 Pattern Pack.  I punched this with the Scallop border punch.  The greeting is from the set Sincere Salutations.  I finished with a pearl in the center of the snowflake.  Thanks for stopping by!

Splitcoast CAS85

Here's a quick card for this week's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast - CAS85.  I'm finding that the set French Foliage is really great for clean and simple cards.  For colors I used Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.  It's hard to see in the picture but I scored a couple straight lines intersecting in the bottom corner.  Then I stamped my images just above the intersection.  I finished with a corduroy button.  The sentiment is from Tiny Tags.  Thanks for stopping by!

Curtain Call 48 and Splitcoast SC298

Here's a quick card I made for a couple challenges.  I used the color combo from Stacey's Stamping Stage - Curtain Call 48.  The combo is yummy....Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry, Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait.  The sketch comes from Splitcoast - SC298.  I used two stamp sets on this card, Just Believe and Best Yet.  The focal image was cut with my Nesties.  I used the Scallop Ribbon punch to bring all the colors of the combo together.  I finished with a button and some linen thread.  I wasn't sure about this combo when I started but I like the way these work together.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch - MTSC 91

Here's my card for this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch - MTSC91.  I pulled out some fall colors for this one.  The DSP is SU's Autumn Spice from the Holiday Mini.  The color combo is Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Old Olive.  The stamp is from the SU set Word Play.  I colored directly on the stamp with my markers.  This set is great for that technique.  It's got lots of awesome fonts to play with!  The scalloped border is cut with the Tasteful Trim die and then embossed with the Square Lattice folder.  The circle mat was cut with a Nellie's Choice die.  I added a few brads to finish it off.  This card is for my hubby.  Today is our anniversary.  Hope he likes it!  Thanks for stopping by.

First Project for Karen's Workshop

Here's a card for an upcoming workshop.  I pulled out one of my favorite stamps for this - Dasher.  I was happy to find that Dasher fits nicely in the new circle punch in the Holiday Mini.  I layered that on two flowers cut with the Island Floral die.  I also used the new die Tasteful Trims for the large scalloped edge.  After cutting I ran this piece through the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I love that texture.  It's subtle but always adds just the right touch.  I added a ruffled ribbon and a paper ribbon punched with the Scallop Ribbon punch.  The DSP is also from the Holiday Mini - Candy Cane Christmas.  The color combo is Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and Baja Breeze.  I like this combo for Christmas.  It's a little non-traditional but I get sick of red and green...lol.  The sentiment is from the set Holidays & Wishes.  Thanks for stopping by!

Another French Foliage Card

Here's a card I made last week for one of my coworkers.  I used the SU set French Foliage.  I stamped the leaves with Versamark and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then I sponged pastels over the image for a soft, smudgy look.  I used my color spritzer to speckle the whole piece and added the sentiment from Well Scripted.  The cardstock colors are River Rock, Early Espresso and Whisper White.  The pastel colors are Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard and Tangerine Tango.  I wanted this card to be more masculine so I left off any other embellishments.  Thanks for stopping by!

2 Sketches 4 You 60 & Curtain Call 46

Here's a card I made for a couple of this week's challenges.  The layout is from 2 Sketches 4 You - 2S4Y60.  The color combo is from Stacy's Stamping Stage - Curtain Call 46.  I used the 2 Step Stampin set Fast and Fabulous for the floral backgrounds.  The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases.  I used a couple dies on this card.  The mat for the focal image is from the die Island Floral.  I cut two in different colors and then layered the stamped image over the top.  I also used the Beautiful Wings embosslit to cut the butterflies.  The color combo is Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade.  I finished with some ribbon and a few pearls.  Thanks for stopping by!

Splitcoast Sketch SC296

Well, it's that time of year again.  Here in the Adirondacks it won't be long before we start to see the leaves changing and fall arriving.  So, I decided to pull out some fall colors for this card.  I used this week's sketch at Splitcoast Stampers - SC296.  I also broke into my new fall DSP Autumn Spice.  This paper is devine!  It's new in the Holiday Mini.  It's a heavy weight cardstock with a subtle texture.  The colors are rich and lovely.  The stamp is an old standby for me - Branch Out.  I stamped this on watercolor paper and then blended a little with my aquapainter to get the watercolor effect.  If you try this, be sure to stamp the tree with StazOn.  Otherwise the branches will blend too.  The sentiment is from Vintage Labels.  I added a little linen thread and a button for embellishments.  The colors for this card are Early Espresso, More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Old Olive.  I think this makes a nice masculine birthday card.  Those can be tricky to make!  Thanks for stopping by.

Sketch Saturday and Color Throwdown Challenges

I made this card for a couple of this week's challenges.  I haven't played along with either of these in awhile.  The layout is from Sketch Saturday 119 and the color combo is CTD108.  The sentiment is from SU's set Word Play.  I colored directly on the stamp with my markers to get the multiple color look I wanted.  The frame for the Nestie Label 5 is from The Angel Comany.  Sorry...I don't know the name of this set.  My Mom picked it up for me.  Thanks Mom!!  I used the Word Window punch and the Scallop Edge border.  I did some embossing on the layered pieces.  I used the Perfect Polka Dot folder on the So Saffron strip and I used Texture Plates for the Chocolate Chip piece in the background.  The color's for this are Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip.  I added a couple brads to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Clean & Simple French Foliage

It's been so hot here this week!!  I haven't been doing much stamping since vacation because it's so darn hot in my stamp room!  I decided it was time for another clean and simple card tonight.  Just stamping on this one to get my creative juices flowing.  I used a new set from the Holiday Mini called French Foliage.  This set is very different from my usual tastes but once I pulled it out to stamp with it I realized I really like it.  It has a great selection of images that work really well together.  I used the rock n roll technique to ink the stamps.  The sentiment is from the set Holidays & Wishes.  For colors I used More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede.  Thanks for stopping by!
