Lovely as a Tree

So, believe it or not after all these years as a demo I never purchased Lovely as a Tree.  I always liked the set but just never got around to getting it.  Well, I finally did and I'm very happy about it!  Here's the first card I made.  This set makes great masculine cards.  I paired a new In Color, Midnight Muse, with Crumb Cake.  My card base is stamped with the Woodgrain background.  I added a layer embossed with the Stripes folder.  My sentiment is from Clear and Simple stamps.  I die cut that with the new Itty Bitty Banners die.  I added a little branch and pine cone stamped on a circle for an embellishment.  Hope Dad likes it!  Thanks for stopping by.

Floral District Sneak Peek

It's just a few days until the launch of the new catalog!  I'm very excited this year because I didn't really care for the stamps that were available for preorder this time around.  But...there are tons of stamps in the catalog I want!  I can't wait to place my order on June 1st.  I really did like all of the DSP choices for preorder.  This card uses one of those.  It's called Floral District.  The colors are very bright and the patterns are perfect for cards.  My color combo is Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Baja Breeze.  I used the Heart Framelits to cut out a few hearts.  Then I embossed that layer with the Petals a Plenty folder and then popped it up on some dimensionals.  My sentiment is from the set Friendly Phrases.  I die cut that with the Itty Bitty Banners dies.  Finally I added a little Daffodil Delight seam binding.  Thanks for stopping by!

Peaceful Pines

I really do love this stamp set.  I wish SU would add a pine cone and bough set to the current stamp line up.  Oh well, there's always next year!  This set is from Clear and Simple stamps.  It's called Peaceful Pines.  I decided to keep this card pretty simple.  I think less is more when it comes to sympathy cards.  I stamped the image and then die cut it with a Framelits label.  I popped it up on some dimensionals.  My color combo is Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Old Olive.  My card base is stamped with the Woodgrain background and then spritzed a little for some texture.  That's it!  Thanks for stopping by.

Up, Up and Away Welcome Frame

I made this little welcome frame with the Up, Up and Away set.  I love these cute little balloons!  I entered this in a Stampin Up contest.  I didn't win but that's okay.  I had fun making this!  I covered the frame with Beyond the Garden DSP.  I fussy cut the balloons and popped them up on some dimensionals.  I added a little chipboard house that I covered with cardstock.  The welcome sentiment is from the set Fabulous Phrases.  I oval punched that and adhered it to my little house.  My color combo is Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point and Pool Party.  I added some ribbon and a Paper Daisy for embellishment.  Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Blossoms with Distressed Dots

I made another card with the Bright Blossoms stamp set.  I'm really getting anxious for my preorder goodies to arrive.  I didn't expedite my shipping this time around so my order is taking forever to get here!  It should be here tomorrow.  I'm really looking forward to the new In Colors and ink pads.  I played with my Mom's new inks this past weekend and they are awesome!  For the card I stamped the base with the Distressed Dots background.  Another new favorite!  My DSP is called Summer Smooches.  My sentiment is from the set You're a Gem.  I punched that with the Decorative Label punch.  My color combo is Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  I added a couple brads for the flower blossoms.  It gives it a nice retro look.  Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Prints

This is one set I'm a little sorry to see retire.  I don't normally get too worked up about retiring sets but I didn't use this set nearly enough.  I do really like it so I think I'll hang on to it for awhile.  For this card my color combo is Pool Party, Island Indigo and Real Red.  I used the coordinating butterfly punch.  Which is also retiring...darn!  The DSP is called Summer Smooches and is a sneak peek from the new catalog.  My sentiment is also from the set Butterfly Prints.  I added a few pearls to the butterflies for a finishing touch.  Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Blossoms Friend

With all the new catalog excitement going on in the SU world right now I decided to pull out my sneak peek set Bright Blossoms again.  This is a cute little set.  I'm very glad I got it.  I didn't really care for most of the preorder choices this time around so I'm glad to have something kinda new to play with.  I paired this with Summer Smooches DSP.  My stamped image is punched with a large circle punch.  I added some pleated Daffodil Delight seam binding to create a little dimension.  My color combo is Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry.  My background panel is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  My sentiment is from the set Fabulous Phrases.  Thanks for stopping by!

Shabby Shoppe Blog Challenge 22

We went on vacation to Florida a couple weeks ago.  We had a great time!  The weather was perfect and it was so nice to get away.  Here's a layout I did for the Shabby Shoppe's Blog Challenge 22.  This template worked really well with my photos.  The kit is also from the Shabby Shoppe.  It's called Heartfelt.  My font is a freebie called Shelter Me.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Confession

So, I have a little confession to make.  I went to a scrapbooking convention with a few friends last weekend and I was lured to the dark side!  I rarely buy any stamps that aren't from SU but I just couldn't resist a couple of the vendors at the convention!  Here's the first card I made.  This stamp set is from Clear and Simple Stamps and it's called Peaceful Pines.  Living in the Adirondacks I can never have too many pine cone sets.  This one really caught my eye.  I punched my focal image with a large circle punch.  My DSP is retired.  It's called Frostwood Lodge.  The color combo is Marina Mist, Garden Green and Early Espresso.  My background panel is embossed with the Houndstooth folder.  My sentiment is from the same set.  I added an Antique brad to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mouthwatering Ice Cream

I didn't get to use the Mouthwatering set a whole lot so I decided to pull it out this weekend.  I really do love this cute little ice cream cone.  I fussy cut the ice cream scoops in three different colors - Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette and Pool Party.  My mat was cut with the Adorning Accents edgelits die.  My card base was stamped with the Distressed Dots background.  I just got this stamp and I love it!  I should have gotten it ages ago.  My sentiment is from the set Perfect Words.  I'm super excited that in the new catalog there will a framelits die set that will cut a banner like the one on my card.  I won't have to hand cut those little tails anymore!!  I've been wanting one for ages and now I'll be able to get it.  I added a little baker's twine in Pool Party to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by!
